Best HVAC Marketing Companies for Small-Town HVAC Contractors (2026)

Picking a marketing company is a lot like hiring a new tech. Everybody looks good on paper... and you don't really know until you're a few months in.

This guide compares the HVAC marketing companies you'll run into, side by side: what they charge, how long they lock you in, and who each one is really built for.

The short answer: it depends on the size of your town

If you're in a big metro with a big ad budget and someone to manage it, the large national agencies have tools and staff built for that. They're good at it.

Small towns are a different game. In a town of 20,000 or 50,000, you don't need TV spots and billboards. You need to show up in the Google map pack when somebody's AC quits on a Saturday afternoon. That comes down to an active Google Business Profile, a website that answers questions, steady reviews, and somebody who actually picks up when you call.

And if you've been burned by an agency that went quiet the minute you signed... you're not alone. It's the most common story I hear from HVAC owners. So this comparison focuses on what protects you: the price, the contract, and what you keep if you leave.

Pricing note: Pricing and contract terms were checked on each company's own website on October 21, 2026. Agencies change their prices and terms, so confirm the current numbers with them before you sign anything. If you spot something that's changed, let me know and I'll update this page.

How I compared them

I run HVAC Blast, so I'm not a neutral party, and I'm not going to pretend I am. What I can do is show you exactly what I looked at, so you can check my work.

  • Published pricing. Can you see the price before you talk to a salesperson?
  • Contract length. How long are you locked in, and what does it cost to leave?
  • What you keep. Who owns your website and Google profile if you walk away?
  • Google Business Profile focus. In a small town, this is the biggest lever you've got.
  • Small-market fit. Is the company set up for towns like yours?
  • Real proof. Do they show results from actual HVAC contractors?

Every fact on this page came from each company's own website, checked on October 21, 2026. No secret scores and no paid placements. When a company doesn't publish something, I say "not published" instead of guessing.

The HVAC marketing companies, one by one

Scorpion

Scorpion is one of the biggest names in home service marketing. They pair a marketing team with their own technology: websites, SEO, ads, reputation management, and AI tools for customer service and booking. Their HVAC page shows real client results, like a 2x increase in revenue growth for ServiceOne Air Conditioning & Plumbing.

Pricing isn't published. Their FAQ says the investment depends on your business goals. Contracts typically run 12 months for their marketing technology and certain marketing services, while ads like Google Ads and LSAs are typically month to month. One thing they do well: they spell out that you own your website after the contract term, and accounts like Google Analytics get handed back to you.

For a small-town shop: it's a lot of firepower. Make sure you need it before you commit to a year.

RYNO Strategic Solutions (merged with Blue Corona)

Blue Corona merged with RYNO Strategic Solutions on October 1, 2024, and the combined company now runs under the RYNO name. You'll still find Blue Corona pages when you search, so don't let that confuse you.

They offer just about every channel there is: SEO, local SEO, PPC, Local Services Ads, social, email, display, TV, radio, billboards, streaming TV ads, website chat and even customer service training. They don't sell packages. Pricing is customized after a digital competitive analysis. Their HVAC page doesn't mention contract length, so ask before you sign.

For a small-town shop: the menu is impressive. But you probably don't need billboards and TV to win the map pack in a town of 30,000.

Hook Agency

Hook Agency works with home service businesses, including HVAC, plumbing, roofing and electrical contractors. I respect that they publish their prices. Local SEO starts at $2,800 a month. Pay-per-click (Google Ads and LSAs) starts at $2,000 a month, Meta ads start at $3,000 a month, and websites run $12,000 to $24,000, spread over 12 months. Their pricing page doesn't mention contract terms, so that's a good question to ask.

For a small-town shop: you'll know exactly what you're getting into. Those starting prices are built for bigger budgets, though.

HVAC Webmasters

HVAC Webmasters is based in Fort Worth, Texas, and focuses on HVAC companies. They say they've worked with more than 1,000 HVAC companies over 16+ years. Services include SEO, PPC, web design, content, reputation management and DataPins, their tool for reviews, job photos and map pins.

Their site advertises "$99 to Start" but doesn't list packages, contract terms or what happens to your website if you leave.

For a small-town shop: an HVAC-only focus is a real plus. Just get the full monthly price and the terms in writing.

Plumber SEO

Plumber SEO serves plumbing, HVAC and electrical contractors, and they're refreshingly upfront. Their core program is $2,495 a month plus a $5,000 one-time setup. Google Ads management is $1,500 a month for up to $10,000 in ad spend. The first term is 12 months, then it goes month to month with 30 days' notice. Website ownership is released to you after 12 months. Leave earlier and there's a buyout.

They say their ideal client is past the startup stage, with a real book of business to grow.

For a small-town shop: clear terms. But $5,000 up front plus a year-long commitment is a big bite for a one or two truck shop.

Thrive Internet Marketing Agency

Thrive is a large full-service digital agency, not an HVAC-only shop. They work month to month, which I like to see. Pricing isn't published. Their contact form asks for your budget range instead. Thrive also publishes its own list of the best HVAC marketing companies, where it ranks itself first.

For a small-town shop: month to month is a good sign. Ask how much of their team's work is with HVAC companies.

HVAC Blast

This one's mine, so read it with that in mind. HVAC Blast is $497 a month, month to month, no contract. It covers Google Business Profile management with weekly posts, photos and offers, local SEO, a new website or a tune-up of yours, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube posting, plus weekly updates and monthly ranking reports. Google Ads management is an optional $397 a month add-on. More on who it's built for below.

What HVAC marketing should cost in a small town

There's no single right number. But here's how to think about it.

  • The management fee. That's what you pay the company to do the work. From the published prices above, HVAC Blast's whole package is $497 a month, while SEO alone starts at $2,800 a month at Hook Agency.
  • Ad spend. If you run Google Ads, that money usually goes straight to Google, on top of the management fee. Ask every company how they handle it.
  • Setup fees. Some companies charge them. Plumber SEO lists $5,000. Others don't charge one at all.
  • Contract length. A 12-month term on a $2,500 plan is a $30,000 commitment. That's a lot to bet before you've seen a single result.

Here's the thing about small towns. Your market only has so many customers. Paying big-city prices doesn't make your town bigger... it just makes the math harder.

Questions to ask before you sign

  1. Who owns my website and Google Business Profile if I leave? Your Google profile should always be in your name. Always.
  2. How long is the contract, and what does it cost to get out early?
  3. Do you work with my competitors in the same town?
  4. Is ad spend included, or billed separately?
  5. What will I see every week, and every month?
  6. Who's actually doing the work?

Red flags that cost HVAC owners money

  • Promises of the #1 spot. Nobody controls Google. Anyone who guarantees it is guessing.
  • Ranking reports with no source. Ask what tool tracks your rankings, and how often.
  • The agency owning your Google profile or domain. If they hold the keys, leaving gets expensive.
  • Junk leads nobody catches. Try this: fill out your own website form with a fake phone number. If it sails through and nobody notices, your reports are counting junk as leads.
  • Raising your ad budget because a Google rep said so. More spend should mean more booked jobs, not just a bigger bill.

Where HVAC Blast fits, and where it doesn't

HVAC Blast is built for HVAC shops in towns, cities and suburbs of 100,000 people or fewer, from one man and a van to about ten trucks. I take one HVAC company per town, so I'm never working for the shop down the road.

The proof I point to is Air Pro Heat and Air in Ponca City, Oklahoma, a town of about 20,000. They held Google's top 3 for 17 straight months across 11 tracked searches, from September 2024 through January 2026, tracked in SE Ranking. Full disclosure: Air Pro is family. Read the Air Pro case study.

Where it's not a fit: if you're in a big metro, run a lot of locations, or want TV and billboards, a bigger agency will serve you better. I'd rather tell you that now.

HVAC marketing company FAQ

Who are the best HVAC marketing companies?

It depends on your market. Big-metro HVAC companies with large budgets often fit national agencies like Scorpion or RYNO. For small-town shops, look for published pricing, month-to-month terms, and a heavy focus on Google Business Profile and the map pack. The comparison table on this page lines them up side by side.

What does an HVAC marketing company charge?

Based on published prices checked October 21, 2026, it starts at $497 a month for HVAC Blast's full package, while SEO alone starts at $2,800 a month at Hook Agency. Some companies add setup fees, like Plumber SEO's $5,000. Many big agencies don't publish prices at all. Ad spend for Google Ads is usually paid to Google on top of the management fee.

Do HVAC marketing companies require a contract?

Some do. Scorpion typically uses 12-month contracts for its marketing technology and certain services, and Plumber SEO starts with a 12-month term. Thrive and HVAC Blast work month to month. Whoever you talk to, ask what it costs to leave early before you sign.

How long until HVAC marketing starts working?

Google Ads can bring calls within days of going live. Local SEO and map rankings take longer. At HVAC Blast, I tell owners to allow about 90 days for Google to start seeing the new work, and up to 6 months for it to really build.

Is Google Business Profile or SEO more important for a small-town HVAC company?

For most small-town shops, the Google Business Profile comes first, because it's what shows up in the map pack when someone nearby searches. Your website and local SEO back it up and help you rank. They work best together.
